Job Description.

I'm looking for an offshore or nearshore Power BI Developer to assist my client with a backlog of report development requests. This person will be sourcing the data for these reports from relational databases, files on Teams, and the Clarity PPM Data Warehouse, among others. See the job description below.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that support project portfolio, resource, and financial management. This role will partner closely with the PMO, Finance, and IT teams to deliver actionable insights through scalable data models and intuitive dashboards.

The ideal candidate has strong experience working with relational databases, advanced SQL development, and building Power BI reports from structured data sources. Experience developing reports from the Clarity PPM Data Warehouse (DWH) is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Data & Database Development

Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures against relational databases.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from enterprise systems into reporting-ready datasets.

Work with structured data models including star and snowflake schemas.

Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and performance optimization.

Power BI Development

Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

Build robust data models using DAX calculations, measures, KPIs, and hierarchies.

Implement row-level security (RLS) where appropriate.

Optimize report performance and usability for business stakeholders.

Publish and manage reports within Power BI Service environments.

Clarity PPM Reporting (Preferred)

Develop reports using data sourced from the Clarity PPM Data Warehouse.

Understand Clarity objects including:

o Projects

o Investments

o Resources & Roles

o Allocations

o Timesheets

o Financials

Translate PMO reporting requirements into scalable Power BI solutions.

Support portfolio capacity, demand, and resource forecasting reporting.

Business Collaboration

Partner with PMO leadership to define KPIs and reporting metrics.

Translate business requirements into technical data solutions.

Provide documentation and knowledge transfer for developed reports.

Support data governance and reporting standards.
