Power BI Architect

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled BI Architect to join our client's team in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in implementing enterprise-level reporting solutions as part of a broader data visualization strategy.

Required Skills & Experience:

7+ years of experience in BI engineering or data analytics

2+ years of experience in BI governance, including BI administration, metadata management, and data quality frameworks

Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards

Proven experience setting up governance frameworks, including defining reporting guidelines, selecting BI tools, managing report catalogs, and overseeing data flow

Extensive SQL experience, including data model design, ETL process development, and pipeline structuring

Strong SSAS and DAX skills, including cube development and optimization

Deep understanding of the Power BI platform, including security models, gateway configuration, and data connectivity

Familiarity with DevOps practices, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

Industry experience in banking or financial services

Job Description:

This role is hands-on and responsible for designing and maintaining the overall BI governance architecture, including RBAC, security protocols, cost optimization, report quality, and audit mechanisms across enterprise business systems. As a key contributor to the client's next phase of growth, this BI Architect will help transform complex data into actionable business insights. Responsibilities include acting as the BI administrator, maintaining and optimizing BI solutions, implementing RBAC and deployment processes for insightful dashboards, and establishing best practices for governance, security, and data quality, primarily using Power BI and other reporting tools.

Roles and responsibilities are shown below:

Design and architect scalable and high-performance BI solutions to support reporting, analytics, and report integration needs

Define and implement BI architecture standards, best practices, and governance principles Evaluate, select, and integrate BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.) Set up and manage Power BI workspace permissions, usage monitoring, and security roles (Row-Level Security, etc.) with RBAC and managing licensing costs by ensuring governance compliance Ensure report quality, consistency, and security across BI platforms and provide mentorship to analysts

Lead the design and development of data models (star/snowflake schemas) and data warehouse structures for the reporting purposes

Having great hold on the report definitions, lineage, and documentation across the BI landscape Collaborate with business stakeholders and other technical team members, also monitor and enforce reporting quality standards across BI functions

Write custom scripts to extract data from structured/semi-structured sources from data warehouse or BI Cubes or from Snowflake. Skilled in deployment, report consolidation, and enhancing report usability

Provide clear documentation for delivered solutions and processes, integrating documentation with the appropriate corporate stakeholders

Optimize DAX queries and Power BI performance for scalability and responsiveness

The pay is $20/hr to $21/hr USD depending upon experience.

The salary in INR is up to $3,774,760.00, depending upon experience.
