Power BI Analyst Intern
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Power BI Analyst Intern to join our analytics team. This role is ideal for candidates who have strong academic or project experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Data Visualization and are eager to work on real-world reporting and analytics solutions.
The selected candidate will contribute to dashboard development, data modelling, analytics, and automation initiatives while working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Design and optimize data models following Power BI best practices.
- Create advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs to support business reporting requirements.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Utilize Python for data processing, automation, and analytical workflows.
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualization solutions.
- Optimize report performance and troubleshoot data-related issues.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reporting solutions.
- Support the development of scalable analytics frameworks and reporting standards.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Dashboard Development and Data Visualization.
- Advanced understanding of DAX, Data Modelling, and Power Query.
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation.
- Good understanding of ETL concepts and data transformation techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic projects, internships, or hands-on experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern BI architectures is a plus.

Candidates with experience or exposure in the following areas will be highly preferred:
- Construction Data Analytics and Reporting.
- 3D Model Visualization and Analytics in Power BI.
- BIM (Building Information Modelling) data integration and reporting.
- Construction Engineering, EPC, or Construction project analytics.
- Project Controls, Scheduling, Progress Monitoring, and Construction KPIs.
