Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Platform Management: Administer and manage the Power BI service, ensuring its optimal performance, availability, and security within the organization.
  • Security Model Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain the Power BI security model, including row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), and user/group permissions to ensure data governance and compliance.
  • Content Management: Oversee the deployment, management, and organization of Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets within the Power BI service.
  • Gateway Management: Configure and manage Power BI gateways to ensure secure and efficient data connectivity to on-premises data sources.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor Power BI environment performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for reports, dashboards, and data refresh processes.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for Power BI users and issues related to data connectivity, report rendering, and performance.
  • Best Practices & Governance: Establish and enforce best practices for Power BI development, deployment, and usage, contributing to data governance initiatives.
  • Capacity Planning: Assist in planning Power BI capacity and scaling the environment to meet growing business demands.
  • SQL Integration: Utilize SQL for data preparation, querying, and integration with Power BI datasets.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Power BI and Visualization concepts.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop.
  • Expertise in Power BI security model implementation and management.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Ability to manage and administer the Power BI service effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data and platform issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with users and stakeholders.
