The candidate should be capable of independently handling database activities across Development, UAT, and Production environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in PostgreSQL database development and administration.
- Hands-on experience in database migration (legacy systems to PostgreSQL / version upgrades / environment migrations).
- Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, scripts, functions, procedures, triggers, and views.
- Schema design and creation, including tables, indexes, constraints, and sequences.
- Relation mapping between tables with proper normalization and referential integrity.
- Ability to analyse business scenarios, understand data flow, and assess impact of schema or data changes.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning.
- Manage and support databases across Dev, UAT, and Production environments.
- Prepare and execute deployment scripts, rollback scripts, and data patches.
- Ensure data security, backup, recovery, and access control best practices.
- Coordinate with application and backend teams during releases and production issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents with minimal downtime.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL (queries, indexing, optimization).
- Experience with database migration tools and manual migration strategies.
- Knowledge of environment-specific configurations and release processes.
- Understanding of transaction management, locking, and concurrency control.
- Experience working in enterprise production environments.
Good to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines involving database deployments.
- Exposure to cloud-based PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, Azure, etc.).
