Postgresql DBA

Urgent opening for PostgreSQL DBA with leading Reputed Firm SIMPLE LOGIC IT PVT LTD. -Mumbai location.

Experience: 4 - 10 years

Job Location: Vikhroli, Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:

Proven hands-on experience with PostgreSQL upgrades, replication, backup & recovery, and high availability solutions.

Proficient in scripting

Working knowledge of AWS RDS for PostgreSQL .

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

PostgreSQL Responsibilities (Primary):

Excellent understanding of PostgreSQL architecture.

Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers.

Perform daily monitoring, health checks, and performance tuning (indexing, re-indexing, DB parameters).

Plan and manage PostgreSQL upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.

Implement and manage PostgreSQL backup & recovery using open-source tools and best practices.

Configure and troubleshoot replication both streaming and logical replication.

Setup and manage automatic failover/failback solutions (e.g., Patroni, EFM, repmgr, etc.).

Conduct planned DR drills (switchover, switchback) and maintain replication health.

Manage database logs, diagnose and troubleshoot errors.

Implement best practices for database access, user control, and security.

Create and manage multiple PostgreSQL instances.

Develop and maintain automation scripts (Shell, Python, etc.) for routine tasks.

Experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL is highly desirable.
