Job Description
Job Title - PostgreSQL Administrator
Location - Mumbai
Experience - 8 - 10 years
Notice - Immediate Joiner
Requirements:-
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across production and non‑production environments.
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and version migrations with minimal downtime.
- Manage replication (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication), failover, and DR setups.
- Monitor performance, tune queries, and optimize database parameters.
- Handle backup, restore, PITR, and retention policies.
- Support incidents, RCA, and problem management activities.
Automation using Ansible
- Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for PostgreSQL automation
- Automate:
- Database installation and configuration
- User/role creation and privilege management
- Patching and upgrades
- Backup and restore validation
- Replication setup and health checks
- Post‑deployment validation and compliance checks
- Maintain inventory management for multiple environments (Prod, UAT, Non‑Prod).
- Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
- Ensure idempotent, reusable, and secure playbooks following best practices.
Security and Compliance
- Implement database security controls as per SCD / audit requirements.
- Automate password rotation, access reviews, and role compliance.
- Integrate with PAM tools (e.g., ARCON, CyberArk – if applicable).
- Ensure encryption, logging, and audit trails are enabled and validated.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, EC2, Aurora, or similar).
- Support containerized or hybrid PostgreSQL deployments (if applicable).
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain SOPs, KTs, automation documentation, and runbooks.
- Provide regular status reports, automation coverage reports, and audit evidence.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring sessions.
