Role: PostgreSQL Database Architect (DBA) On-site, India. We seek a hands-on database architect to lead Postgres platform design, harden production operations, and drive automation at scale.
Role & Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and operate production PostgreSQL clusters with a focus on high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
- Design and maintain replication topologies (logical & physical), partitioning/sharding strategies, and connection pooling for large-scale workloads.
- Perform advanced performance tuning: query optimization, indexing strategies, execution-plan analysis, and resource profiling.
- Define and execute robust backup & recovery processes, run DR exercises, and validate restore procedures using tools like pgBackRest.
- Automate provisioning, upgrades, patching, and runbooks using Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management (CI/CD integration).
- Establish database engineering best practices: configuration standards, observability, capacity planning, security hardening, and on-call incident response.

- Ability to work on-site in India and collaborate closely with engineering, SRE, and security teams.
