- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines with a strong research background in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies.
- Candidates with a strong publication record in reputed SCI/SCIE journals will be preferred.
Job Description
The selected candidate will be involved in R&D activities focused on:
- Advanced Manufacturing: Metal and multi-material additive manufacturing (SLM/DMLS, WAAM, LDED), sustainable and digital manufacturing, and AI-assisted process optimization.
- Advanced Materials Development: High- and medium-entropy alloys, metal matrix composites, functionally graded materials, and lightweight structural materials.
- Welding and Surface Engineering: Advanced welding processes, WAAM, surface modification, repair, and remanufacturing technologies.
- Materials Characterization and Performance Evaluation: Microstructural characterization, mechanical behavior, corrosion, oxidation, wear, tribology, high-temperature performance, and failure analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead high-quality research in advanced manufacturing and materials engineering.
- Design, fabricate, and characterize novel engineering materials.
- Develop experimental methodologies and testing protocols.
- Publish research findings in high-impact SCI/SCIE journals.
- Contribute to sponsored research proposals and project execution.
- Mentor undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral researchers.
- Collaborate with academic, industrial, and international partners.
- Support patent filing and technology transfer activities.
Desirable Skills
- Hands-on experience in Additive Manufacturing (SLM, DMLS, WAAM, LDED).
- Experience in High-Entropy Alloy development.
- Expertise in advanced materials characterization techniques such as SEM, EDS, XRD, Optical Microscopy, and Mechanical Testing.
- Knowledge of corrosion, wear, and high-temperature testing.
- Experience with statistical optimization techniques (DOE, Taguchi, RSM).
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM, ANSYS, ABAQUS, or related simulation tools.
- Programming and data analytics skills are advantageous.
