As a Post Doctoral Research Assocate Heat Transfer & Thermal Management, you will collaboratively work on heat transfer and thermal management technology, research & development programs for GE Aerospace applications. You will interact with personnel at GE Aerospace and GE Aerospace Research to develop and deliver novel solutions aligned with GE Aerospace's goals of shaping the future of flight.
This is typically a 9-month fellowship. It may be converted to a full-time employment based on performance, mutual interests, and business/program needs/funding.

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Apply your knowledge in heat transfer and thermal management to develop innovative aerothermal/mechanical solutions for GE Aerospace product portfolio
- Deliver on technical projects with guidance to meet project requirements
- Participate in a team on technology programs to enable future design advancements, while demonstrating independence in executing tasks leveraging your technical skills
Ideal Candidate
Should have experience in Industrial inspection technologies using X-ray, Ultrasound and specifically inverse problem and signal processing using these modalities.
Required Qualifications
- Submitted Ph.D. thesis in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering specializing in Heat Transfer/Thermal Management.
- Demonstrated fundamental knowledge in heat transfer / thermal management, evidenced by advanced graduate coursework and research
- Demonstrated ability and experience in thermal and flow Modeling, Simulation & Analysis
- Experience with commercial software (ANSYS FLUENT, CFX, Icepak) or in-house code development
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Research in any one of the following areas: electronics cooling, gas turbine heat transfer, thermal management of electric machines, thermal & energy systems modeling
- Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, FORTRAN
- Computational Heat Transfer projects with demonstrated ability to set-up, execute and post-process simulations with a reasonable degree of independence
