Role – Business Planning Manager

Function/Department – Credit Cards

Location - Mumbai

Job Purpose :

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic professional to lead the P&L management function for our Credit Card business. The role requires strong business acumen, financial understanding, portfolio management expertise, and the ability to drive profitability through strategic initiatives across products, partnerships, and customer segments.

This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Finance, Risk, Analytics, Partnerships, Operations, and Network partners to drive sustainable growth and healthy portfolio metrics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the overall P&L of the Credit Card business
  • Monitor and drive individual product-level profitability and key unit economics
  • Develop and execute overall P&L strategy focused on sustainable profitability and portfolio health
  • Track monthly financial performance, variance analysis, and key business metrics
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning exercises
  • Manage Credit Card rewards and loyalty programs with focus on engagement, retention, and profitability
  • Drive revenue enhancement initiatives across spends, revolving balances, interchange, fees, EMI, cross-sell, and partnerships
  • Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities across acquisition, servicing, rewards, and operations
  • Manage strategic relationships with payment networks including Visa, Mastercard, and RuPay for commercial negotiations, incentive programs, and network cost optimization
  • Drive interchange income enhancement and NII (Net Interest Income) improvement strategies
  • Track portfolio risk indicators including NCL, delinquency trends, and profitability-risk trade-offs
  • Lead sensitivity analysis and scenario planning for key business levers
  • Prepare business cases and financial projections for new product launches and strategic initiatives
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Product, Marketing, Analytics, Operations, and Technology teams
  • Present business performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • MBA / CA / CFA or equivalent qualification from a reputed institute
  • Strong experience in Credit Cards, Retail Banking, Consumer Lending, or Payments business
  • Proven experience in P&L management, portfolio strategy, or business finance roles
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Good understanding of interchange economics, NII drivers, rewards economics, and portfolio profitability
  • Experience in stakeholder and partner management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and data-driven environment
