Role Description
We are looking for a Policy Team Lead who can manage and guide the policy compliance function for our ad-tech business. The person will be responsible for ensuring that all publishers, campaigns, landing pages, creatives, and monetization flows follow Google policies, platform guidelines, and internal quality standards.
This role is important because our business works across Google Ad Manager, AdSense for Search, AdX, AFG/AFS, MCM publishers, performance marketing traffic, and multiple monetization products. The Policy Team Lead will work closely with the founders, media buying team, content team, ad operations team, and publisher management team to reduce policy risks and maintain a healthy monetization ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities1. Policy Compliance & Review· Review publisher websites, landing pages, ad placements, search pages, content pages, creatives, and traffic flows to ensure compliance with Google and internal policy standards.
· Monitor and evaluate compliance for Google Ad Manager / AdX policies, AdSense for Search policies, Related Search on Content / AFS flows, AdSense for Games / quiz or gaming products, MCM publisher quality, misleading creatives or deceptive claims, invalid traffic risks, adult/shocking/copyrighted/misleading/restricted content, user experience, and accidental click risks.
2. Publisher & Website Audits· Conduct regular audits of publisher websites before onboarding and after they go live.
· Check website content quality, ad placement quality, traffic source quality, page layout and user experience, policy-sensitive categories, number of ads versus content, misleading buttons, forced clicks, accidental click risks, and both desktop and mobile versions.
· Maintain a proper audit sheet with findings, screenshots, status, and final approval/rejection remarks.
3. Creative & Campaign Policy Review· Review ad creatives, headlines, landing pages, and campaign flows before they are used for Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, or other traffic channels.
· Identify risky creatives related to misleading claims, fake rewards, clickbait, sensitive content, deceptive wording, policy-restricted themes, brand misuse, and user confusion.
· Coordinate with the media buying and creative teams to suggest safer alternatives.
4. Internal Policy SOPs· Create, maintain, and update internal policy SOPs for the team.
· SOPs may include publisher onboarding checklist, website audit checklist, creative review checklist, AFS/RSOC page compliance checklist, ad placement policy checklist, traffic quality review process, escalation process for violations, and daily/weekly audit reporting format.
5. Team Management· Lead and manage the policy team's daily work.
· Assign audits to team members, review team output, train team members on policy updates, maintain daily productivity, ensure SLA adherence, track pending/approved/rejected/escalated cases, and give feedback to improve accuracy.
6. Risk Monitoring & Escalation· Identify high-risk publishers, pages, creatives, or traffic sources and escalate them to management in time.
· Prepare clear reports on risk category, reason for concern, evidence/screenshots, suggested action, business impact, and final recommendation.
· The person should be able to say clearly whether something is safe, risky, needs changes, or should be rejected.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination· Work closely with founders/management, ad operations, media buying, content, publisher account managers, product/tech, and client servicing teams.
· Ensure that policy feedback is practical, clear, and easy for other teams to implement.
Required Skills· Good understanding of digital advertising and the ad-tech ecosystem
· Knowledge of Google Ad Manager, AdSense, AdX, or publisher monetization is preferred
· Strong understanding of website/content policy risks
· Ability to review creatives, landing pages, and ad placements carefully
· Strong attention to detail
· Good written communication skills
· Ability to create structured audit reports
· Comfortable with Google Sheets / Excel
· Ability to manage a team and track daily work
· Strong judgment and decision-making ability
· Ability to work under pressure and handle escalations
Preferred Experience· 3-6 years of experience in ad operations, policy, compliance, content quality, publisher quality, or digital advertising
· Experience in Google AdSense, GAM, AdX, AFS, MCM, or programmatic advertising will be an advantage
· Experience handling policy audits for multiple websites or publishers
· Experience managing a small team will be preferred
