Job Description

Role Overview The PMO Head will act as the Prime Mover and central hub for the company. This role is designed to remove laxity from the system and act as a professional buffer so that the Managing Director and Director can focus on high-level strategy rather than daily micro-management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Monitoring: Create and maintain strict execution schedules for all hydro-sector projects.
  • Coordination & Interaction: Act as the primary link between all departments, ensuring smooth interaction and information flow.
  • Tracking & Dashboards: Implement real-time tracking of schedules and project trends using visual dashboards (e.g., Power BI or Primavera).
  • Management Reporting: Generate and manage detailed MIS reports and documentation to provide data-driven insights to the Director and Managing Director.
  • System Standardization: Standardize company systems to eliminate laxity and ensure consistent professional conduct.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor project costs, cash flow, and revenue targets in coordination with the Finance department.
  • Operational Control: Track delay logs, staff attendance, and vendor performance to ensure 100% accountability.
  • Strategic Analysis: Perform regular SWOT analysis to identify business risks and growth opportunities.

Requirements & Skills

  • Software Proficiency: Mastery of Primavera or Power BI for advanced project tracking and data visualization.
  • Technical Background: Experience as a Planning Engineer or MIS Documentation Engineer.
  • Management Style: A strict and assertive leadership style to ensure that managers and Senior Manager follow the new organizational chart.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of hydro-project execution, including manufacturing specs for components like Pelton runners.

The Balanced Scorecard Framework

This format is used by the Director and Managing Director to move the company from discussions to measurable results.

1. Internal Process Perspective

Goal: System standardization and efficiency.

  • Audit Accuracy: Percentage of drawings (e.g., Pelton runners) checked for size, thickness, and material grade errors before production.
  • Schedule Tracking: Percentage of projects meeting the Saturday Deadline for technical query resolution.
  • Delay Index: Tracking the frequency and cause of project delays to improve future planning.

2. Financial Perspective

Goal: Accurate tracking of cash flow and revenue.

  • Cash Flow Monitoring: Alignment of actual project spending with the monthly budgets set by Finance.
  • Revenue Trends: Tracking progress against the financial turnover targets for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
  • Vendor Cost Control: Measuring vendor performance against cost-saving and quality targets.

3. Learning & Growth Perspective

Goal: Eliminating laxity and building professional skills.

  • Software Adoption: Level of proficiency and daily usage of Primavera and Power BI by the PMO team.
  • Professionalism Compliance: Adherence to formal communication standards, including the use of professional titles (e.g., MD Sir).
  • Accountability Score: Percentage of tasks completed by department heads without requiring direct follow-up from the Director.

4. Strategic Perspective

Goal: Freeing senior leadership for business expansion.

  • Strategic Time Allocation: Percentage of the Managing Director's and Director's time spent on strategy rather than firefighting.
  • SWOT Implementation: Number of strategic threats or opportunities identified and addressed through the PMO's analysis.
