Job Description

About us

Little Eco Threads is the Kidswear division of Home Fashions and we've been manufacturing and exporting children's apparel and soft goods for over 25 years. We're GOTS, GRS, and SEDEX certified, with buyers across Europe, USA, and Australia. We've been producing plush at a smaller scale for some time and are now building a dedicated plush toy division to serve both domestic and international markets at scale.

The role

We're looking for a plush toy designer who can take products from concept to production-ready, working closely with our sampling team, merchandiser, and buyers. You'll own design end-to-end: concept, pattern, prototype iteration, tech pack, and handover to production. The role suits someone who's already shipped plush at volume and wants to help shape a new division inside a 25-year-old manufacturing business.

What you'll do

  • Design plush across categories (cuddle toys, characters, gift, baby-safe, novelty) for domestic and export buyers
  • Develop 2D patterns from 3D concepts and refine them through prototype rounds
  • Select fabrics, fills, trims, eyes, embroidery, and finishes appropriate to price point and safety standards
  • Build complete tech packs: construction specs, stitch types, fill density, BOM, embroidery files, safety markings
  • Work alongside the sampling room to nail prototypes and reduce sample cycles
  • Design with EN71, ASTM F963, and CPSIA requirements built in from the start
  • Track trends in plush and adjacent categories across mass, gift, and premium segments
  • Collaborate with merchandisers on costing tradeoffs (fabric, fill, size, finish) before designs go to buyers
  • Adapt designs to buyer briefs and licensed properties when required

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years designing plush toys for production, with a portfolio of products that have actually shipped
  • Strong 2D pattern-making skills and the ability to translate sketches into sewable patterns
  • Working knowledge of plush fabrics (minky, velboa, sherpa, faux fur, fleece) and how each behaves in construction
  • Experience designing to EN71 and ASTM F963 standards, including small parts, attachment strength, and labelling requirements
  • Fluency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; CLO, Optitex, or similar is a plus
  • Comfortable on the production floor working directly with sampling tailors
  • Eye for proportion, character, and finish that holds up against premium plush brands

Nice to have

  • Experience designing for both Indian and international buyers
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials (recycled polyester fill, organic cotton plush)
  • Embroidery design and digitisation skills

Location

Noida, on-site.

A note on applying: if you don't tick every box above but think you'd be a strong fit, please apply anyway. We hire for attitude and aptitude alongside experience, and we'd rather hear from you than not.
