Job Description for Plumbing & Fire Design Engineer

Designation              :   Junior Public Health Engineering & Fire Design Engineer

Educational Qualification :   B.E. /Diploma in Mechanical

Experience               :   2-5 years with good communication skills

Software Knowledge      :    Auto CAD, Revit MEP, Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word , Sprincal

Functional Role            :    Design Engineer- Design, drafting and co-ordination

Responsibilities: 

1. Design, Review of Public Health Engineering, plumbing storm water, rain water harvesting, water supply & water storage, drainage, STP, WTP, Pumping systems, Fire protection/Fire alarm & smoke detection etc. 

2. Finalizing requirements and specifications of PHE & Fire services as per project need and space planning 

3. Design coordination, meeting with architects, contractors, management & venders 

4. Review of design and value engineering in terms of cost and best suitable technical option. 

5. Preparation of BOQs and technical specifications 

6. Best equipment installation practices and their commissioning checklists 

7. Preparation of budget from conceptual stage to final stage for services & tracking of the same with site visits.

Requirements: 

Past Experience Requirements: 

• Preferably worked with targets, deadline and handled pressure
• Experience in design and execution (approx. 70,30 ratio) of Public Health Engg., storm water, rain water harvesting, water supply, drainage STP, WTP, and conversant with relevant Statutory, Regulatory requirements etc.
• Knowledge in IS code, NBC, NFPA code, LEED Handling etc.
• Preparation of water flow schematic diagram for fire and plumbing water
• Plumbing & fire water calculations with Water balance chart preparation
• Plumbing and fire water pumping head and flow calculations
• Experienced in hotels / hospitals / office buildings / IT fit outs/ Apartments/ Industries.

Other Requirements: 

• Good problem-solving skills and creative approach
• Ability to interact with authorities and clients to finalize the PHE Fire and Building codes.
• Willingness to visit project sites and check site progress and participate in design meetings.
