Overview of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Developer with 5 years of hands-on experience in PL/SQL development. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions while working closely with architects, designers, and business users to deliver reliable and high-quality applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
- Analyze application requirements and translate them into efficient database logic.
- Perform query performance tuning, optimization, and indexing.
- Troubleshoot application and database-related issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Handle basic database administration tasks such as installation, backup and restore, and database and table creation.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Review requirements with users and provide accurate time and effort estimates.
- Produce and maintain clean, well-documented program code.
- Prioritize tasks and deliver under tight timelines in a high-pressure environment.
- Actively participate in team discussions and contribute to a collaborative work culture.
Desired Skills / Background
- 5+ years of experience in PL/SQL development.
- Strong understanding of database schemas and system tables.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
- Exposure to at least one major database platform such as Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
