PLC Software engineer

Role Description

•   Design, program, and configure PLC systems for automation equipment to meet operational needs.

•   Debug, test, and validate control logic to ensure performance standards are achieved.

•   Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate PLCs into different type control systems, including SCADA, VFD and HMI interfaces.

•   Analyse and optimize existing control logic to improve efficiency, accuracy, and system reliability.

•   Troubleshoot system malfunctions, identifying and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.

•    Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules and system updates to prevent unplanned outages.

•    Manage system backups, maintain version control, and implement safety interlocks to safeguard against system failures.

•    Create comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and I/O configurations, to support ongoing system management and troubleshooting.

•    Electrical CADD drawing for control system development of various PLC and MCC based Systems.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.

•    Experience: 2 – 5 years experience

•    Strong proficiency in programming and developing PLC, VFD, HMI and SCADA.

•    Experience multiple brands VFD, HMI, PLC and SCADAs. (Schneider, Siemens, AB etc.)

•    Experience with real-time system debugging, control loop tuning, and signal processing.

• In-depth understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus,Profibus,Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Devicenet, TCIP).

•   Ability to design and implement complex control architectures involving multiple PLCs, sensors, and actuators.

•    Skilled in conducting system risk assessments and applying fail-safe strategies to ensure safety in high-risk operations.

•     Understanding of application security best practices and regulations.
