PLC & Automation Engineer

Activities / Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

PLC Programming: Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs (minimum 4 years hands-on experience) using Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms. Proficient in ladder logic, structured text, and FBD.

Drive Programming: Program and configure VFDs and Servo Drives with at least 2 years of experience. Responsible for drive selection, tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting & Commissioning: Handle installation, commissioning, and testing of new products at customer sites. Ensure seamless integration and compliance with project specifications.

Customer Support: Provide on-site technical support, resolve system issues, and ensure reliable control system performance post-installation.

System Integration: Work with cross-functional teams for integration of PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and other automation components.

Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation including control design, logic descriptions, configuration details, wiring diagrams, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting reports.

Qualifications

Graduate or Postgraduate in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering from a reputed institute.

Strong academic record.

Experience Requirements

48 years hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley).

Strong in Servo and VFD drive selection, programming, and optimization.

Experience in process automation, real-time process control, and automated manufacturing systems.

HMI Programming Hands-on experience in UNIFIED HMI Migration project done from UNIFIED HMI Experience in Java Scripting, VB Scripting of HMI Design ( Unified HMI)

Ability to design complete control systems including system architecture, PLC I/O mapping, and control strategies.

Proficient in E-Plan, understanding circuit diagrams, panel integration, and control panel design.

Solid knowledge of switchgear, panel layout, and BOM preparation.

Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).

Experience developing and integrating HMI screens for process control.

Project management exposure is an added advantage.

Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
