Job Title: Platform Product Manager
Years of Experience: 12 to 18 years
Location: Bangalore, India (Onsite)
Role Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Platform Product Manager to own and evolve our core platform capabilities that power multiple products and business lines. This role is accountable for end-to-end ownership of the Core Platform, driving platform-first product strategy, scalability, extensibility, and ecosystem enablement across banking and financial services solutions.
What will you do
Core Platform Strategy & Architecture
- Own and drive the core platform strategy supporting core banking, lending, payments, teller, and digital banking channels, enabling rapid and cost-efficient product development through modular, reusable platform capabilities
- Define a platform-first operating model with standardized frameworks, shared services, and governance for enterprise-scale adoption
Extensibility, APIs & Developer Experience
- Lead platform extensibility strategy, including API frameworks, SDK toolkits, user exits, and developer portals
- Own Developer Experience (DX) outcomesAPI usability, documentation, onboarding, sandboxing, and partner adoption
- Enable financial institutions and third-party providers to build, extend, and customize solutions on the platform
Messaging & Event-Driven Capabilities
- Own platform-level messaging and event-driven architecture, enabling:
- Real-time transaction processing
- Event notifications and alerts
- Scalable, asynchronous system integrations
- Define event standards, schemas, and governance across products and channels
Integration & Connector Frameworks
- Lead development of a platform integration module supporting:
- TCP/IP integrations
- Message queues
- File-based SFTP protocols
- Enable seamless connectivity between core systems, channels, and third-party solutions through standardized connectors
Channel Platforms & Self-Service Configuration
- Own channel platforms (mobile and desktop) and the platform configuration portal used by financial institutions and internal teams
- Drive self-service configuration and customization capabilities, enabling:
- Workflow configuration
- Data object extensions
- Automatic propagation across UI, APIs, and data exports
- Reduce implementation dependency through configurable, metadata-driven design
Data & Analytics Platform
- Own platform-level data and analytics capabilities, leveraging data lake architectures
- Enable:
- Real-time and operational reporting
- Advanced analytics
- AI/ML-driven insights
- Partner with data, engineering, and architecture teams to ensure scalability, governance, and performance
Platform Operations & Partnerships
- Manage the Platform & Partnerships function, including:
- API development platform
- SDK and toolkit lifecycle
- Events and notifications framework
- Data platform capabilities
- Self-service configuration portal
- Core system and third-party connectors
- Work with internal product teams, external partners, and ecosystem vendors to drive adoption and value realization
Governance, Scale & Outcomes
- Define platform KPIs covering adoption, performance, reliability, extensibility, and cost efficiency
- Balance platform innovation with backward compatibility, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience
- Act as the single point of accountability for platform roadmap, prioritization, and delivery outcomes
Platform Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the platform product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with long-term business goals
- Identify platform opportunities that enable faster product innovation and scalability
- Drive platform standardization, reusability, and modular architecture
- Own end-to-end lifecycle of platform capabilities (APIs, services, infrastructure abstractions, data platforms, DevOps tooling, etc.)
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear product requirements, epics, and user stories
- Prioritize roadmap based on business impact, technical dependencies, and platform maturity
- Act as the single point of accountability for platform outcomes
- Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Security, SRE, and Data teams to ensure reliable and scalable delivery
- Influence senior stakeholders and leadership through data-driven insights and clear communication
Developer Experience & Adoption
- Champion developer experience (DX), usability, and adoption of platform services
- Define success metrics for platform adoption, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Drive internal enablement, documentation, and onboarding for platform consumers
- Ensure platform complies with security, compliance, and governance standards
- Proactively manage technical debt, scalability risks, and operational excellence
- Track platform KPIs such as uptime, latency, cost optimization, and usage
