Platform Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Platform Engineer role based in Chennai. The Platform Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable platform components that support AI and governance-focused solutions. Responsibilities include developing platform services and tools, implementing and optimizing infrastructure, and integrating applications, databases, and services. The role involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, monitoring system performance, and automating deployment and operational workflows. The Platform Engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers, data teams, and GRC specialists to ensure the platform meets performance, security, and compliance requirements.

• Infrastructure & Orchestration: Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure Kubernetes (K8s) clusters across cloud platforms.
• Data Streaming: Oversee and optimize event-driven architectures utilizing Amazon MSK / Apache Kafka for high-throughput data streaming.
• CI/CD Automation: Build, maintain, and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to ensure seamless, automated software delivery.
• Security & Compliance: Embed DevSecOps practices into the core development lifecycle, ensuring rigorous identity and access management (Authentication/Authorization) and vulnerability scanning.
• Observability & Monitoring: Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure maximum platform uptime and proactive issue resolution.
• Application Support & Testing: Leverage a foundational background in Java to troubleshoot application-level issues, and utilize Postman for robust API testing and validation.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison, communicating complex infrastructure architecture and project statuses clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience: 6–8 years of relevant experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Architecture.

Cloud & K8s: Deep expertise in Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and advanced Kubernetes administration and orchestration.

Streaming: Strong hands-on knowledge of Apache Kafka or Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK).

CI/CD & DevOps: Advanced proficiency in GitLab CI/CD pipeline design and tool integration.

Security: Proven experience implementing DevSecOps practices and handling complex Auth (Authentication/Authorization) protocols (e.g., OAuth, OIDC, SAML, IAM).

Development & Testing: Professional experience with Java programming and API testing workflows using Postman.

Observability: Experience with modern Monitoring/Logging frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).

Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills.
