Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Platform Engineer who will design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud architectures on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will be proficient in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of resources. You will have hands-on experience with core GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub, utilizing them to build efficient and resilient systems, alongside Cloud Build. A working knowledge of DBT, Git, and Python is essential, as is a good understanding and exposure to Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo tools, DevOps CI/CD, and Git CLI commands.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture & Design: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
• GCP Services Expertise: Work extensively with GCP services including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub, to build efficient and resilient systems.
• CI/CD & DevOps: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build, Bitbucket, and Bamboo, and apply strong understanding of DevOps principles.
• Data Transformation: Utilize working knowledge of DBT for data transformation within data pipelines.
• Scripting & Version Control: Develop automation scripts using Python and manage code repositories with Git (including Git CLI commands).
• Collaboration & Documentation: Use Confluence and Jira for documentation, project tracking, and team collaboration.
• System Optimization: Focus on optimizing system performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Build.
• Working knowledge of DBT.
• Working knowledge of Git and Python.
• Good understanding and exposure to Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo tools.
• Strong understanding of DevOps CI/CD principles.
• Proficiency with Git CLI commands.
