Our Retail Technology organization provides end-to-end IT management, planning, change and delivery for the Bank's critical retail customer channels (branch, digital, ATM and contact centre), core banking and origination systems. We are accountable for the current and future health of the applications within the portfolio, supporting the internal customers that use these applications and ensuring they evolve to meet changing business needs.

Day to day, you will be involved in designing and implementing effective solutions across a variety of products and services. You will also help ensure that our customer service teams have the technology tools available to provide our customers with world-class end-to-end banking experience with CommBank, 24/7.

Your impact & contribution

As a SAP Banking Platform Engineer, you will be a responsible for guiding the designs within your SAP domain to align to the SAP Application Architecture.

Specifically, as a Functional Consultant, you are responsible for fit/gap analysis and estimation process within the Business Case Phase. During the delivery phase, you are responsible for designing Build Inventory Items assessed as being of high complexity and also to govern designs of other medium/low complexity items within your domain to drive quality outcomes across the Core asset solutions within CommBank.

You would also expected to build intimate relationships with the business to ensure we are delivering what the business wants and needs.

The Platform Engineer is required to:

• Collaborate & Consume requirements from Business Analysts & application architects

• Collaborate with the SAP Application Architect and Functional SME's to prototype solutions to explore alternatives, seeking SAP standard solutions with a low cost of ownership

• Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of the SAP solution area utilising your knowledge of SAP, your collaboration with production support and other partners such as SAP

• Adopt a Design to Run mentality to deliver robust solutions that are fully supportable in a production environment

• Design Medium/Low Complexity Build Items

• Govern and guide all other medium/low complexity designs with Developers & Designers within your domain.

• SAP Domain (Capability) ownership & governance into Crew Leads in a project context.

Your responsibilities

We areseekinga highly skilled and experiencedPlatform Engineerwith a strong background in AWS, Terraform, and Ansible. The ideal candidate willbe responsible fordesigning, implementing, andmaintainingourSAPinfrastructureonclolud, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.As part of the team, you will play a key role insupporting andoptimizingourSAP landscape onAWScloud.

• Design, implement, andmaintainhighly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure to support SAP workloads on AWS.

• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration managementfor SAP deploymentsand automation.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficientand reliable SAPdeploymentson AWS.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly and proactively.

• Monitor andoptimizecloud infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.

• Work closely withSAPBasisteamto ensure seamless integration between SAP and the cloud infrastructure.

• Develop andmaintaindocumentation for cloud infrastructure and procedures.

• Participate in security assessments and compliance audits related to the SAP environment on AWS.

• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our infrastructure.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

• Experience with SAP environments and tools is desirable.

Your Experience

You will haveextensiveexperience in the following:

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on cloud technologies.

• Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3,Cloudformation, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.).

• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools, particularly Terraform and Ansible.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such asGitHub, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus and Artifactory.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments.

• Work experience and knowledge of RHEL or SUSE Linux administration would be an added advantage.

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communicationand collaboration skills.

• Good understanding and experience on ITIL Process (Incident, Change, Problem Management)

• Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant AWS certificationsismandatory.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field
