Summary: Platform Engineer - Product Hub for the purpose of Product Hub Development, Security, & Operations. Ensure the continuous availability, performance, security, and scalability of the Product Hub platform hosted on AWS by managing its cloud infrastructure, performing routine maintenance, and implementing improvements aligned with business and technical requirements including but not limited to instance types, right-sizing, storage volume types, backup options, etc.
Responsibilities:
Provision and manage AWS services including EC2, S3/EFS/EBS, DataSync, Storage Gateway, RDS/Aurora, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, Route 53, ELB, and VPC.
Manage cloud infrastructure changes through OpenTofu/Terraform.
Define and implement architectural changes and review with leadership.
Manage and optimize infrastructure spend applying FinOps best practices.
Forecast and seek approval for infrastructure growth.
Collaborate with development teams to implement infrastructure solutions.
Attend Company cloud, security, and shared service meetings.
Support infrastructure deployments on-prem, multi-region, and multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI).
Define, implement, and manage data transfers and synchronizations.
Maintenance & Upkeep
Apply regular OS, application, and database updates.
Rotate EC2 AMIs and credentials per Company security policy.
Perform scheduled backups and recovery testing.
Optimize performance through right-sizing, scaling, and upgrades.
Security & Compliance
Enforce IAM best practices including least privilege, MFA, and role-based access.
Use Wiz, Tenable, and other tools for compliance and threat detection.
Encrypt data using KMS and TLS.
Conduct regular security reviews and audits.
Define, implement, and maintain disaster recovery plan and test bi-annually.
Integrate with Company core services (Identity, Network, etc.).
CI/CD & Automation
Define, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Runner.
Integrate code quality and security tools (SAST, DAST).
Create Docker images for pipelines.
Use Chef for configuration management and automation.
Oversee GitLab organization workflows.
Automate tasks with AWS Lambda and other tools.
Monitoring & Reporting
Define, implement, and maintain monitoring with CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana.
Create dashboards and alerts for system metrics.
Provide executive reports on uptime, performance, and incidents.
Recommend improvements based on analytics.
Maintain documentation and SOPs.
Assist with training and onboarding.
Provide 24x7 on-call support for infrastructure, database, CI/CD, automation, and application-related issues.
