Job Description

Important: Only candidates with hands-on, practical experience working on Planview Portfolios will be considered.
Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Planview Portfolios Consultant / Architect with strong hands-on experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting Planview Portfolios solutions.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience across Portfolio, Project, Resource, Financial, and Demand Management processes, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective Planview configurations and solutions.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, PMO teams, product owners, and technical/integration teams to deliver implementation, enhancement, support, and optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and configure Planview Portfolios solutions based on business and functional requirements.
  • Configure and manage portfolio hierarchies, project structures, custom attributes, resource structures, roles, skills, allocation models, and security profiles.
  • Configure workflow-driven processes for demand intake, project approvals, portfolio governance, status management, and operational processes.
  • Configure and support resource planning and capacity management to enable demand planning, resource allocation, utilization tracking, and forecasting.
  • Configure project and portfolio financial structures covering planned costs, actuals, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, KPIs, and management views to provide visibility into project health, portfolio performance, resources, financials, risks, and delivery.
  • Perform data migration, data validation, reconciliation, and bulk data management using Planview import/export mechanisms.
  • Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, defect resolution, root-cause analysis, and post-production stabilization.
  • Analyze business requirements and convert them into scalable Planview configuration and technical solutions.
  • Work with integration teams to support data exchange between Planview Portfolios and enterprise applications where required.
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues, production incidents, defects, and enhancement requests.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, PMO, product owners, integration teams, and technical teams throughout the implementation and support lifecycle.
  • Contribute to process improvements and optimization of existing Planview Portfolios configurations.

Required Skills

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience with Planview Portfolios.
  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of Planview Portfolios.
  • Practical experience in Planview implementation, configuration, enhancement, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of Project, Program, and Portfolio Management (PPM) concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Portfolio and project structures
  • Custom attributes and configurations
  • Workflows and approval processes
  • Resource management and capacity planning
  • Staffing and allocation
  • Financial management
  • Demand management
  • Dashboards and reporting
  • Data migration and validation
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT, deployment, troubleshooting, and production stabilization.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation.
  • Understanding of APIs, JSON, and system integrations is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is an advantage.
  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating Planview Portfolios with ERP, HRMS, or other enterprise/project management applications.
  • Experience with Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools.
  • Planview University training or certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with enterprise PMO or portfolio management environments is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering, MCA, or a related field.

Candidates with strong relevant Planview experience and technical/scripting expertise may also be considered.
