Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sonipat for a Plant Tissue Culture Lab Production Incharge. The role involves planning and overseeing daily production activities in the tissue culture lab, including media preparation, explant inoculation, subculturing, and hardening of plantlets. The Production Incharge will supervise lab staff, allocate work, monitor adherence to protocols, and ensure high survival and multiplication rates. Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic conditions, implementing quality control checks, managing inventory of chemicals and consumables, and ensuring proper documentation of batches and records. The role also involves coordinating with management on production targets, supporting process optimization, and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards in the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of plant tissue culture techniques, including media formulation, explant selection, subculturing, and acclimatization of bamboo, banana, and ornamental plants.
- Experience in production planning and lab operations management, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and meeting production targets.
- Proficiency in maintaining aseptic conditions, laboratory hygiene, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to lead, train, and supervise lab technicians and support staff in a production environment.
- Experience with quality control, documentation, batch record-keeping, and basic data analysis for process improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in identifying and addressing contamination, variability, or process deviations.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with management, procurement, and other internal teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Plant Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field; prior experience in a plant tissue culture production lab is highly desirable.
