PLANT HEAD SOLVENT EXTRACTION

Position Overview 

We are looking for a highly accomplished Chemical Engineer to lead and drive the complete operations of a Solvent Extraction Plant engaged in the manufacturing of Turmeric Extracts, Herbal Extracts, Phytochemicals, Oleoresins and other value-added botanical products. 

The ideal candidate must possess strong technical expertise in extraction technology, process development, solvent recovery, scale-up, plant optimization, and commercial manufacturing. The role demands a hands-on leader capable of independently managing production, R&D, engineering, quality, safety, and business planning functions.

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the complete operation and profitability of the Solvent Extraction Plant.
• Drive process excellence, yield improvement, solvent recovery optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Develop and implement production strategies aligned with sales forecasts and business objectives.
• Lead process scale-up activities from laboratory and pilot trials to commercial production.
• Establish and optimize extraction parameters for maximum recovery and product quality.
• Ensure smooth coordination between Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
• Drive continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, efficiency, energy conservation, and waste reduction.
• Lead plant expansion, commissioning, debottlenecking, and capacity enhancement projects.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, GMP, and industrial safety requirements.

Solvent Handling & Recovery 

Strong practical experience in handling and recovery of:

• Ethyl Acetate
• Hexane
• Ethanol
• IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol)
• Acetone
• Other industrial organic solvents 

Process Equipment

Expert-level knowledge in operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of: 

• Multi-stage Extractors
• Evaporators
• Reactors
• Crystallizers
• Distillation Systems
• Solvent Recovery Units
• Vacuum Systems
• Condensers
• Heat Exchangers
• Storage & Handling Systems 

R&D and Process Development

Proven experience in extraction process development and optimization.

Ability to develop new extraction methodologies and improve existing processes.

Strong understanding of process chemistry, solvent selection, extraction kinetics, and purification techniques.

Experience in commercializing new products from concept to production scale.

Ability to improve product yield, purity, and process economics through scientific and engineering approaches.
