Plant Head Solar Cell & Module Manufacturing

Client: A leading energy group,now developing an integrated solar manufacturing facility for both Module & Cell Manufacturing ( 1.2GW each) in Aurangabad,Maharashtra.

Role Overview

Lead end-to-end operations of an integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility at a single location, ensuring production excellence, high yields, product quality, cost competitiveness, safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Drivers:

• Plant Operations: Lead solar cell manufacturing (diffusion, PECVD, printing, firing and testing) and module assembly (stringing, layup, lamination and testing), achieving production, yield and OEE targets.
• Process & Quality Excellence: Improve cell efficiency, module reliability and manufacturing yields; ensure compliance with IEC, BIS and ISO standards.
• Cost & Productivity: Optimise cost per watt, manpower productivity, material consumption, utilities and overall manufacturing costs.
• Maintenance & Engineering: Ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, high uptime and continuous process improvement.
• Strategic Growth: Drive greenfield/brownfield expansion, capacity enhancement, automation, digitalisation and technology upgrades.
• Supply Chain: Coordinate procurement, inventory, vendor quality and material availability while minimising wastage.
• EHS & Compliance: Ensure statutory compliance, environmental sustainability and a strong safety culture.
• Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams across production, quality, engineering, maintenance, EHS and supply chain; develop a high-performance organisation.
• Stakeholder Management: Review plant performance with senior management and engage with customers, auditors and regulatory authorities.

Incumbent Profile :

• B.Tech+MBA with 20+ years of manufacturing experience, with significant hands-on exposure to solar cell and module manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in process engineering, yield optimisation, quality systems and plant performance management.
• Experience in large-scale manufacturing- GW-scale facilities, including greenfield/brownfield projects.
• Strong leadership, financial acumen and a track record of delivering operational excellence.
