Job Title: Vice President – Manufacturing Operations
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Preferred Industry: Mechanical Parts Manufacturing, Automotive Industry, Large-scale manufacturing operations
Role Summary
The Vice President – Manufacturing Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership for large-scale mechanical parts manufacturing operations. This role requires strong P&L understanding, execution of management strategies, and the ability to lead a workforce of 500+ employees to achieve operational excellence, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead and execute company-wide manufacturing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Translate management vision, strategies, and business objectives into actionable operational plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations of mechanical parts, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
- Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar best practices.
- Strong understanding and ownership of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
- Drive cost control, margin improvement, and operational profitability.
- Prepare and manage manufacturing budgets and track financial performance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a workforce of minimum 500 employees across manufacturing units.
- Build a strong leadership pipeline and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and employee engagement.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with COO and senior leadership to align manufacturing objectives with business goals.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and Finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Requirements
Experience
- Experience 25+ years in similar type industry. Must be at senior leadership over last three to four years.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing economics and P&L statements.
- Ability to execute management strategies and achieve business goals.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Hands-on experience in operational transformation and scaling manufacturing operations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/production engineering (mandatory).
- MBA / Postgraduate degree in Operations or General Management (preferred).
