Job Title : Plant Head

Department : Production

Location : Bhiwandi (Thane)

Reporting To : Managing Director

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Plant Head to oversee complete furniture manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, quality control, factory operations, manpower management, maintenance, safety, dispatch, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in modular furniture, woodworking, panel furniture, or interior manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

Manage end-to-end plant operations including production, assembly, finishing, packing, and dispatch.

Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.

Monitor CNC cutting, edge banding, drilling, lamination, assembly, polishing, and finishing processes.

Improve productivity, machine utilization, and operational efficiency.

Implement SOPs and manufacturing best practices.

Production Planning & Coordination

Prepare production schedules as per project timelines and client requirements.

Coordinate with Design, Sales, Procurement, and Installation teams.

Ensure timely availability of raw materials, hardware, laminates, and accessories.

Monitor production progress and ensure on-time delivery.

Quality Control

Ensure finished products meet company quality standards and design specifications.

Reduce rejection, rework, and material wastage.

Conduct root cause analysis for production or quality issues.

Maintain quality documentation and inspection reports.

Team Management

Lead production supervisors, machine operators, carpenters, helpers, and QC teams.

Handle manpower planning, shift management, and performance monitoring.

Train employees on productivity, safety, and quality standards.

Maintain discipline and smooth factory operations.

Maintenance & Safety

Ensure preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Minimize machine breakdowns and downtime.

Maintain workplace safety, housekeeping, and factory compliance.

Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures.

Cost Control & Process Improvement

Monitor production cost, wastage, and material consumption.

Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Improve efficiency, output, and profitability.

Prepare MIS reports and operational performance reports for management.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing processes

Experience with CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders, and woodworking machinery

Production planning & factory operations management

Leadership and team handling skills

Cost control and process optimization

Problem-solving and decision-making ability

Good communication and coordination skills

Qualification

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Experience

10–18 years in furniture manufacturing / modular furniture industry

Minimum 5 years in a senior factory or plant management role preferred

Preferred Industry : Modular Furniture/Interior Fit-Out Manufacturing/Woodworking / Panel Furniture

Kitchen & Wardrobe Manufacturing

Salary : 12LPA - 16LPA
