Position: Plant Engineer
Department: Projects / Plant & Equipment
Reporting To: Site Manager / Project Manager
Role Purpose:
The Plant Engineer shall be responsible for the operation, maintenance, deployment, and management of construction plant and equipment used in slope stabilization, soil nailing, rock anchoring, gabion structure installation, and associated civil works. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, productivity, and safety at project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and supervise construction plant and equipment at project sites.
• Ensure proper operation, preventive maintenance, and timely repair of machinery and equipment.
• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of equipment as per project requirements.
• Monitor equipment utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.
• Support execution teams involved in slope stabilization, soil nailing, rock anchoring, and gabion works.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and coordinate with vendors/service providers.
• Ensure availability of spare parts, consumables, and maintenance tools.
• Maintain equipment inspection records and statutory compliance documents.
• Monitor operator performance and ensure safe operation of all equipment.
• Coordinate with project teams to optimize equipment deployment and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly plant utilization and maintenance reports.
Educational Qualification:
• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experience,
OR
• Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
Requirements
• Experience in slope stabilization and hill slope protection projects.
• Hands-on experience in:
- Soil Nailing Works
- Rock Anchoring Works
- Gabion Structure Works
- Slope Protection Works
• Experience in management and maintenance of construction equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of drilling rigs, compressors, grouting pumps, excavators, hydraulic equipment, and related construction machinery.
• Experience in site coordination and equipment planning.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of plant maintenance and equipment management.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operations.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic equipment management systems.
