Role Purpose
As the Plant Finance Controller, you will be the finance leader for the manufacturing site and a core member of the Plant Leadership Team.
You will drive cost discipline, capital governance, financial planning, compliance, and performance management to ensure the plant operates efficiently, profitably, and in a strong control environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cost & Performance Management
Drive monthly cost reviews and ensure adherence to annual operating plan (AOP)
Lead cost efficiency programs and develop long-term cost roadmap
Conduct operational variance analysis (material, conversion, overheads)
Maintain accurate product costing systems
Provide financial insights to improve plant productivity
Capital & Investment Governance
Prepare and evaluate capital budgets
Assess financial viability of new investments (ROI, payback, IRR)
Monitor capital spends and ensure capital stewardship
Support long-term manufacturing planning
Working Capital & Balance Sheet Control
Drive inventory optimization and working capital improvement
Conduct balance sheet reviews and ensure accounting hygiene
Maintain strong financial processes and SOP adherence
Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure robust financial controls including SOX compliance
Lead statutory, internal and SOX audit interactions
Ensure compliance with commercial and tax regulations
Partner with legal and central tax teams on regulatory matters
Business Partnering & Financial Planning
Partner with plant leadership to support business decisions
Lead annual planning, forecasting and performance tracking
Provide financial modeling and decision support
Contribute to supply chain initiatives (IL6S, HPWS and other plant programs)
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Build and develop a high-performing plant finance team
Drive performance management and capability development
Embed a culture of continuous improvement
Experience:
8-13 years of finance experience, preferably in manufacturing/plant environment
Strong exposure to product costing, capex evaluation, variance analysis and financial planning
Experience in cost efficiency and working capital management
Experience managing audits and compliance
Qualification:
Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance
Sector Preference:
Manufacturing / FMCG background preferred
