Role Summary
The Plant Finance & Accounts Head will lead the entire finance and accounts function of the Jamuria Integrated Plant, ensuring strong financial governance, plant-level controls, compliance, reporting accuracy, and business support. The role demands a strong personality with high ownership mindset, leadership depth, and the ability to drive discipline, performance, and accountability across a large finance team. The incumbent will act as a finance business partner to plant operations while maintaining strict financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Plant Finance Leadership
- Head end-to-end plant finance & accounts operations.
- Lead, control and mentor a team of 40 finance, accounts and commercial staff.
- Drive ownership culture, accountability and performance discipline.
- Act as finance anchor for Plant Head and corporate finance.
2️⃣ Financial Accounting & Closure
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closure.
- Oversee plant books of accounts, provisions, accruals and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Monitor plant P&L, cost sheets and profitability metrics.
3️⃣ Costing & MIS
- Lead product costing, process costing and variance analysis.
- Drive detailed MIS reporting for production, conversion cost and yield analysis.
- Provide actionable cost insights to plant operations.
- Monitor cost drivers — raw material, power, fuel, consumables and overheads.
4️⃣ Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead annual budget and periodic forecast for plant operations.
- Track budget vs actual and drive corrective actions.
- Support capex evaluation and financial viability analysis.
- Monitor working capital and cash flow at plant level.
5️⃣ Internal Controls & Governance
- Establish and enforce strong internal financial controls.
- Ensure SOP compliance across finance and commercial processes.
- Strengthen audit readiness and documentation standards.
- Drive zero-leakage control environment.
6️⃣ Statutory Compliance & Tax Coordination
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with corporate tax and audit teams.
- Support statutory, internal and cost audits.
- Ensure timely return filing and assessments support.
7️⃣ Working Capital & Treasury Interface
- Monitor receivables, payables and inventory from finance lens.
- Drive working capital efficiency initiatives.
- Coordinate with HO treasury for fund planning and utilization.
- Control credit exposure and advances.
8️⃣ Plant Commercial Finance Support
- Provide financial oversight on procurement, stores, contracts and dispatch transactions.
- Validate major commercial proposals and rate contracts.
- Support negotiation with financial analytics.
9️⃣ Systems & Process Excellence
- Ensure strong ERP discipline (SAP preferred).
- Improve process automation and reporting efficiency.
- Standardize finance processes across plant departments.
