Planning & Procurement Manager

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Planning & Procurement Manager to join a well-established manufacturing and supply chain operation based in Lae, PNG.
This role combines demand planning, supply planning and procurement coordination into a single, accountable position and plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted supply of finished goods and raw materials across the national network.
Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, the role also provides strong exposure to senior leadership and is well suited to a capable planning professional looking to step into a broader, end-to-end supply chain role in an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead demand planning and supply planning activities to support national sales requirements
- Coordinate procurement planning for finished goods and raw materials, with purchase orders raised at least three months in advance
- Support and facilitate monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
- Develop weekly and monthly production and distribution schedules aligned to demand forecasts
- Balance inventory availability with working capital targets, ensuring minimal stock-outs by SKU
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Logistics, Sales and Finance teams to manage supply constraints and risks
- Conduct scenario planning and capacity analysis to support decision-making
- Prepare accurate planning reports and performance metrics for stakeholders
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across planning and procurement processes
- Lead, coach and develop a team of planning and coordination professionals
About You
You are a hands-on, analytical supply chain professional who is comfortable operating across both planning and procurement functions. You enjoy working in fast-paced, operational environments and are confident engaging with stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
You will ideally bring:
- 5+ years experience in demand planning, supply planning, procurement or broader supply chain roles
- Strong analytical and Excel-based planning capability
- Experience working in manufacturing, FMCG or similar operational environments
- Ability to work both strategically and operationally
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience leading or coordinating teams
- Exposure to ERP systems (advantageous but not essential)
