Job Summary
The Planning & Execution Engineer (Fabrication) is responsible for
production planning, coordination, and execution of steel fabrication works, ensuring timely completion as per drawings, quality standards, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Prepare fabrication schedules, bar charts, and daily/weekly production plans.
- Coordinate with design/detailing team to ensure timely release of drawings.
- Plan manpower, machines, and material flow for smooth fabrication activities.
- Monitor project progress vs plan and highlight delays or risks.
- Coordinate with stores for raw material planning and availability.
Execution
- Supervise shop floor fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, drilling, and assembly.
- Ensure execution is carried out as per approved drawings, WPS, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, production, and dispatch teams for inspections and delivery.
- Resolve technical and execution issues during fabrication.
- Support client / third-party inspections and closure of observations.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain daily production reports, material consumption, and manpower records.
- Track fabrication quantities, dispatch status, and balance work.
- Update seniors on progress, delays, and corrective actions
Qualifications
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 26 years of experience in steel fabrication / structural fabrication projects
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret GA and shop drawings
- Basic knowledge of planning tools (Excel / MS Project)
- Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
