Position Details:

Job Role: Planning and Cost Engineer 


Experience Required : 10+ Years Experience in Oil & Gas Industry with good knowledge shut down, maintenance, Projects, construction 


Location : Oman


Education: BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering


MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN OIL AND GAS SECTOR

Specific Skills:  

  • Good Communication skills
  • MS Office Skills
  • Good Exposure of Mechanical Maintenance, shutdown planning & Execution
  • Saudi Oil and Gas experience
  • Proficiency in project management software Primavera P6
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience in construction or engineering projects
  • Ability to analyze complex data and generate insights
  • Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities 

Role Summary:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to define project scope and objectives
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly with resource loading
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders
  • Assist in budgeting and resource allocation decisions
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and adherence to schedules
  • Analyze project data to identify trends and improve future project planning
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  • Use project management software (primavera) to track and report project timelines
  • Develop contingency plans to address delays and disruptions
  • Review and approve project plans developed by subcontractors
  • Facilitate communication between different project teams
  • Project performance management
  • Project progress management
  • Development of Cash flows and providing the accounting department with necessary information for invoicing and accounting
  • Administers budget variance tracking for the project
  • Review new project budget and cost codes against estimates
  • Manage the Project Status Report process for all projects within the regional office
  • Review all monthly Project Status Reports with the Operations Manager prior to issuing them to Corporate Office
  • Analyze department team forecasts
  • Review status of project Change Order
  • Review project Cashflow reports with each project team
  • Assists with the development and management of the cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information
