Job Title Principal Database Developer
The Purpose of This Role Principal Database Developer for Workplace Investment team responsible for designing and driving implementation of applications and frameworks using Oracle SQL Server Informatica Control M Responsible for development and maintenance of critical platform applications Work closely with business and technology teams across regions and enable adoption of technology Provide development and maintenance support to Workplace Investment organization
The Value You Deliver Build quality solutions aligned with technology standards to solve business problems through design development and support Assess current platform implementations and define improvements to meet customer needs Translate business requirements and architecture into technical vision and execution steps Understand and apply design principles including performance scalability resiliency security and high availability Identify risks and take proactive actions to mitigate issuesThe Skills That Are Key to This Role Strong design and development skills in SQL and Oracle PLSQL including performance tuning packages stored procedures and troubleshooting Ability to optimize complex queries and design efficient database solutions Strong problem solving and analytical thinking for complex data transformation use cases Experience in enterprise environments with version control and deployment standards Strong communication skills with technical and non technical stakeholders Experience in ETL design and development Experience with databases including Oracle as primary and SQL Server Experience working in Agile methodology Knowledge of containerization and cloud deployment related to databases Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and adapt in fast paced environments Ability to manage changing priorities effectivelyHow Your Work Impacts the Organization Workplace Investing Platform technology group develops and maintains solutions for Fidelity Defined Contribution business using Java Spring Angular Oracle ETL across multiple tiersThe Expertise We Are Looking For Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field 10 plus years experience in information technology Financial services experience preferred especially retirement domain Certifications preferred
