Job Description

Overview of the Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer with 5 years of hands-on experience in PL/SQL development. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions while working closely with architects, designers, and business users to deliver reliable and high-quality applications.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.

Analyze application requirements and translate them into efficient database logic.

Perform query performance tuning, optimization, and indexing.

Troubleshoot application and database-related issues and recommend effective solutions.

Handle basic database administration tasks such as installation, backup and restore, and database and table creation.

Collaborate with architects, designers, and development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Review requirements with users and provide accurate time and effort estimates.

Produce and maintain clean, well-documented program code.

Prioritize tasks and deliver under tight timelines in a high-pressure environment.

Actively participate in team discussions and contribute to a collaborative work culture.

Desired Skills / Background

5+ years of experience in PL/SQL development.

Strong understanding of database schemas and system tables.

Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.

Exposure to at least one major database platform such as Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
