Job Description

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Piping Flexibility
  • Strong understanding of international piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, B31.1, API)
  • Expertise in pipe stress analysis software, primarily in CAESAR II
  • Proficient in 3D modeling tools (e.g., SmartPlant 3D, PDMS, E3D),model review tools like Navisworks,smartplant review etc.
  • Familiarity with FEA software such as ANSYS is preferable.
  • Familiarity with structural interface and civil load transmission principles
  • Strong communication coordination, documentation, and team leadership skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Quality, Budget, and Schedule of activities related to pipe stress analysis and flexibility design.
  • Prepare and maintain the Critical Line List, identifying lines requiring detailed flexibility and stress evaluation.
  • Responsible for preparation of stress analysis specifications, Pipe Support Std Specifications
  • Perform detailed piping stress analysis for offshore piping systems using CAESAR II for various equipments, ensuring compliance with relevant codes (ASME B31.3/B31.1, etc.).
  • Generate and issue Single Line Diagrams for piping loads to structural teams to aid the design of offshore structures.
  • Should be able to perform Weight Control analysis and Report for offshore piping scope.
  • Review and approve piping layouts to ensure flexibility and support adequacy.
  • Prepare comprehensive Stress Analysis Reports documenting methodology, load cases, and results.
  • Review vendor equipment GA and nozzle load data, ensuring conformance with allowable loads and providing feedback where necessary.
  • Coordinate with layout, civil, mechanical, and equipment teams to ensure alignment and resolution of interface issues.
  • Provide input for spring hanger selections, expansion joint design, and pipe support specifications.
  • Guide and mentor junior flexibility engineers and ensure quality review of their analysis and deliverables.
  • Responsible for Support Material Takeoff, procurement , reviewing vendor documents, responding to site technical queries, and resolving field stress related issues.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews and ensure proper stress-related modeling and interface integration.
