The Pilot Line Technician, General is responsible for supporting new product introduction and pilot line operations. This role involves working closely with supply chain, service, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from development to production. The technician will be trained in the art and science of mechanical assembly, pilot builds, repair, and servicing of complex systems.

This position reports to Manager, Pilot Lab Operations and is part of the Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain Organization. This position is located in Bangalore, India and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Build, modify, and test hardware, instruments, and system components, including fabrication of new parts and fixtures for prototype development
• Execute engineering experiments and hands-on prototype testing, including troubleshooting, performance evaluations, and support for preclinical build activities
• Document test results, assembly procedures, and verification inputs maintain engineering lab infrastructure, tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure readiness for prototype development

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Associate of Science degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years supporting mechanical engineering in product development, including application of mechanical and electrical theory to build, troubleshoot, and repair benchtop instruments
• Proficiency in prototyping and manufacturing electromechanical instruments, including precision soldering, smallscale assembly, adhesive bonding, subassembly integration, testing, servicing, rework, and PCB inspection using metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, vision systems, and CMM
• Experience using Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting, with desirable proficiency in SolidWorks, and ability to meet physical and operational requirements including lifting up to 25 lbs and supporting periodic travel (10-25%) across multiple sites

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Ability to multi-task on several different projects and tasks concurrently
• Ability to perform independently or as part of a team under restrictive timelines
• Experience working in a product development environment and/or within manufacturing operations under cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations
