Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SMT Pick & Place Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our Neoden N10P pick and place machine and semi-automatic solder paste printer to assemble PCBs at production scale of 1,000+ units per order. The ideal candidate is not just a machine operator but a production floor owner — someone who takes pride in quality output, machine uptime, and a well-run floor. 

Key Responsibilities: 

● Set up and operate the Neoden N10P pick and place machine for PCB assembly runs. 

● Operate the semi-automatic solder paste printer — set stencils, control paste deposition, and ensure consistent print quality. 

● Load component reels, feeders, and trays accurately as per BOM and placement files. 

● Program and edit placement programs on the Neoden N10P for new PCB designs. 

● Perform vision calibration, nozzle selection, and feeder alignment before each production run. 

● Monitor machine during operation and resolve pick errors, misplacements, or nozzle issues in real time. 

● Coordinate PCB flow through reflow oven — monitor temperature profiles and ensure proper solder joint formation. 

● Perform visual inspection of assembled PCBs for missing components, tombstoning, bridging, and misalignment. 

● Maintain first-pass yield targets and flag recurring defect patterns. 

● Manage component inventory on the floor — track reel usage, maintain stock levels, and raise replenishment requests on time. 

● Plan and sequence assembly runs to meet delivery targets consistently. 

● Coordinate with design and engineering teams for new product introduction (NPI) runs. 

● Maintain production logs — units assembled, machine downtime, defect counts, and material consumed. 

● Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on all machines. 

● Ensure ESD safety protocols and 5S standards are followed across the production floor at all times. 

Qualifications & Skills: 

● ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical, or a related field. 

● Minimum 2 years of mandatory hands-on experience operating pick and place SMT machines in a production environment. 

● Proven experience with solder paste printing — stencil setup, squeegee pressure, and print speed calibration. 

● Ability to read and interpret PCB assembly drawings, BOM, and component placement files. 

● Working knowledge of SMT component types — 0201 to large QFP/BGA — and their handling requirements. 

● Familiarity with reflow soldering profiles and oven operation. 

● Basic understanding of IPC-A-610 PCB assembly quality standards. 

● Ability to manage production targets independently with minimal supervision. 

● Strong attention to detail and a zero-defect mindset. 

Preferred (but not mandatory): 

● Direct experience with Neoden N10P or similar desktop/benchtop pick and place machines. 

● Experience with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machine operation. 

● Rework and touch-up soldering skills using hot air rework stations and soldering iron. 

● Experience handling both lead-free and leaded solder processes. 

● Knowledge of ESD handling and storage protocols.
