About the Role
We are seeking a Physics PhD Expert (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on theoretical and applied physics, scientific reasoning, mathematical modeling, experimental research, computational physics, and advanced problem-solving.
In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated outputs related to physics concepts, research methodologies, mathematical derivations, scientific explanations, experimental design, data analysis, and technical problem-solving. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for scientific reasoning, research assistance, technical education, and advanced STEM applications.
This position is ideal for individuals with a PhD in Physics and expertise in areas such as theoretical physics, condensed matter physics, quantum mechanics, particle physics, astrophysics, optics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, computational physics, or related disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing advanced physics concepts and scientific reasoning scenarios
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated explanations, derivations, calculations, research summaries, and technical analyses
- Assess AI outputs for scientific accuracy, mathematical rigor, logical consistency, and adherence to established physical principles
- Review AI-generated content involving classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, statistical physics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, optics, relativity, and modern physics
- Evaluate solutions involving mathematical modeling, differential equations, numerical methods, simulations, and computational analysis
- Identify conceptual inaccuracies, calculation errors, unsupported assumptions, and reasoning flaws in AI-generated outputs
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in scientific reasoning and physics-related problem-solving
- Support projects involving scientific research, academic content review, technical education, and advanced STEM evaluation
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on physics, scientific research, and technical analysis
Requirements
- PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline
- 3+ years of research, teaching, postdoctoral, industrial R&D, or scientific consulting experience
- Strong mathematical foundation, including calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, probability, and numerical methods
- Experience conducting scientific research, literature reviews, experimental analysis, and technical reporting
- Ability to critically evaluate scientific arguments, mathematical derivations, and research findings
- Familiarity with scientific computing tools such as Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, Julia, C++, or equivalent platforms
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning skills
- Excellent written English communication skills
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy and technical quality
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Experience as a university professor, lecturer, postdoctoral researcher, or principal investigator
- Expertise in computational modeling, simulations, high-performance computing, or data-intensive scientific research
- Experience with machine learning applications in physics or scientific computing
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research tools and scientific evaluation frameworks
- Experience reviewing academic publications, grant proposals, or scientific research projects
- Exposure to interdisciplinary fields such as quantum computing, materials science, nanotechnology, or space science
- Contributions to scientific communities, conferences, or professional societies
