PHP Developer(Legacy App Migration)

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled PHP Developers to join our team for a critical legacy application migration project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with legacy PHP codebases and a passion for modernizing applications using up-to-date frameworks and best practices. You will play a key role in re-engineering our application stack for improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand the structure and business logic of the legacy PHP application.
• Work on migrating and refactoring legacy modules to modern PHP frameworks.
• Ensure that the migrated application retains feature parity and performance.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA teams to define migration strategies.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to modern standards.
• Troubleshoot issues arising during the migration process.
• Support testing, deployment, and post-migration stabilization.

Required Skills

• 37 years of hands-on PHP development experience.
• Strong knowledge of core PHP and experience dealing with legacy PHP codebases.
• Proficiency in at least one modern PHP framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, especially MySQL.
• Familiarity with MVC architecture, REST APIs, and version control systems like Git.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in legacy application modernization projects.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Exposure to containerization tools like Docker.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Nice to Have

• Experience in microservices design or service-oriented architectures.
• Knowledge of secure coding and performance optimization techniques.
