Role Objective
The Photography & Video Editor will be responsible for creating high-impact visual narratives that showcase MIT ADT University's vibrant campus life, academic excellence, and world-class events. This role combines technical expertise in camera operation with advanced post-production skills to produce content for social media, university archives, and marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production (Field Work)
- Event Coverage: Capture high-quality stills and cinematic video footage of university events, including convocation, cultural fests (Persona), guest lectures, and sports meets.
- Campus Life: Conduct periodic shoots of the 85-acre campus, architecture, and student lifestyle to maintain a fresh visual asset library.
- Equipment Management: Responsible for the upkeep, inventory, and safe handling of department gear (DSLRs, Mirrorless cameras, lighting, and audio equipment).
2. Post-Production (Editing)
- Video Editing: Transform raw footage into engaging short-form (Reels/Shorts) and long-form content (Documentaries/Promos) using industry-standard software.
- Color & Audio: Perform professional color grading and sound design/mixing to ensure high production value.
- Photo Post-Processing: Edit and retouch photographs for university magazines, websites, and press releases.
- Motion Graphics: Create basic lower-thirds, intro/outro animations, and text overlays to enhance video storytelling.
3. Strategy & Collaboration
- Brand Alignment: Ensure all visual content stays consistent with the MIT ADT University brand guidelines and ethos of Art, Design, and Technology.
- Content Archiving: Maintain a systematic digital asset management system for easy retrieval of historical footage and photos.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with the Marketing and Social Media teams to conceptualize and execute creative campaigns.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (BFA), Photography, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Software Proficiency:
- Video: Adobe Premiere Pro (Expert), After Effects (Intermediate), DaVinci Resolve (Bonus).
- Photo: Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom.
- Camera Skills: Proficiency with Sony/Canon/Nikon ecosystems, DJI gimbals, and drone operation (if certified).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational institution or a creative agency.

- Creativity: A keen eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling.
- Time Management: Ability to deliver high-quality edits under tight deadlines, especially during major university events.
