Brief Description About The Project
Aims to study problems from a cell-to-society perspective. The research from the Division, particularly the energy and amino acid requirements of humans, has been used as core evidence in setting guidelines for requirements. The Division has over the last 25 years become a centre of excellence in human physiological and biochemical research.
Phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications: DMLT including 12th pass/BSc MLT/ Masters in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years research experience
Preferred Language: English, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi
Location: Bangalore
Salary: Rs.30000/- per month
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for any age group from Infants to adult participants at households in the field.
- Collection of the biological specimens (saliva, blood, urine, breast milk and stool)
- Processing and storage of the human specimens (saliva, blood, urine, breast milk, and stool) at appropriate temperature according to the standard operating procedures on the day of sample collection
- Label specimens using unique study IDs/barcodes as per SOPs.
- Maintain cold chain during storage and transport to the central laboratory.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies needed for testing and ordering new supplies when necessary
- Travel to field/home for collection of the biological samples.
- Data entry and checking data quality following standard operating methods
- Maintain the lab records, analytical procedures, and validation protocols according to standard operating procedures
- Maintain and manage accurate and precise documentation
- Assisting in recruitment of participants
