Position Overview
The PGT (Sociology) is responsible for teaching Sociology to senior secondary students in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will foster an engaging learning environment, develop critical thinking, and encourage students to explore societal structures, issues, and patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver lessons in Sociology senior secondary grades following the CBSE curriculum.
Plan and execute well-structured lesson plans, ensuring curriculum objectives are met.
Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance learning.
Prepare and conduct periodic tests, examinations, and assignments.
Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records.
Provide constructive feedback to students to promote improvement.
Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and research skills in students.
Guide students in project work, social surveys, and other experiential learning activities.
Mentor students for participation in debates, seminars, and competitions related to Sociology.
Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development programs.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary learning where appropriate.
Contribute to school activities, cultural events, and social initiatives.
Maintain class records, attendance, and reports as per school policies.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding academic progress and student welfare.
Ensure classroom management and a safe, respectful learning environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Postgraduate degree in Sociology from a recognized university.
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
Minimum experience of 3 years teaching sociology along with social in a CBSE-affiliated school
Skills
Strong knowledge of Sociology concepts and teaching experience in Social Science, CBSE syllabus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and engage students.
Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.
