Job Description
Job Role: CBSE PGT Psychology / School Counsellor
Core Purpose
To teach Psychology to senior secondary students while providing structured counselling support that promotes students emotional well-being, mental health awareness, and overall development in alignment with CBSE guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Psychology to Classes XI and XII as per the CBSE curriculum.
Prepare lesson plans, case studies, assessments, and practical activities that build conceptual clarity and applied understanding.
Conduct individual and group counselling sessions addressing academic, emotional, behavioural, and social concerns.
Maintain confidential student records in accordance with ethical and RCI guidelines.
Support students during board exam preparation, subject projects, and career-related guidance in psychology and allied fields.
Identify students requiring special intervention and collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals when necessary.
Conduct workshops and awareness programs on mental health, stress management, life skills, and adolescent issues.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment within the school.
Participate in academic planning, school programs, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
Qualification & Skills
Master's degree in Psychology (Clinical / Counselling / Applied Psychology).
BEd (if primarily appointed as PGT).
RCI Certification Mandatory.
Minimum 35 years of experience in teaching Psychology and/or school counselling.
Strong understanding of adolescent psychology, mental health interventions, and CBSE curriculum requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills, confidentiality, ethical practice, and effective communication ability.
