Job Purpose Description

To maintain and monitor safety requirements. Maintain Safety and its documents & Reports, Implement World Class Manufacturing requirements. To follow-up and assist the Dept. Head and SHs for safety compliances. Arrange trainings for workmen and participate positively. Conduct various campaigns like NSD. TBT / Mass Communication meetings etc. Conduct different audits as per UTCL requirement.

PF Safety Position is responsible for overall activities related to Safety & WCM section of the Unit. Ensure smooth functioning of section in coordination with BT Head, PLH, and SHs of PBT etc. To implement safety culture and all safety procedures, guidelines, SOPs etc. as advised by corporate safety. To implement WCM and ISO systems at the Unit.

  • Creating awareness on safety, ISO, WCM and Environment sections among all employees.
  • To ensure zero accident and incident at the Unit.
  • To ensure and fulfil statutory requirement of Director of Industry Safety & Health in time.
  • To implement safety standards rolled out by corporate safety.

Accountability: Safety Implementation : Organize and coordinate safety practices in the plant to achieve zero Accident target.

  • Plant Inspections.
  • Develop Checklist.
  • Monitor and implementation.
  • Participation in departmental meetings.
  • Emphasis on usage of PPE.
  • Generate and review of reports and analysis of accident.
  • Conducting training program

Safety Promotion: Identify and formulate programs related to safety in order to motivate the employees.

  • Awareness campaign.

Development of safety procedures: Investigation and analysing accidents to develop standard practices of safety.

Statutory Compliance: To Monitor and compliance of statutory requirements pertaining to safety rules and regulations.

  • Organize safety committee meetings.
  • Organize reports to accident and send to personnel department.
  • Compliances as per factories Act 1948 / MFR 1963.
  • Safety auditees / inspections / load or pressure tests as per legal requirement.

Safety Implementation: Organize & coordinate with Section Heads and monitor implementation of safety practices in the Unit to achieve zero Accident target.

  • Guide for effective implementation of Safety culture.
  • Impart training to workmen/contract workmen.
  • Identification & rectification of unsafe points/defects
  • Regular checking of process safety interlocks.
  • Regular checking of tools & tackles.
  • Analyse accident/near miss cases and SBO.
  • Carryout safety/environment audits as per corporate safety requirements.
  • Monitor working of pollution control equipment
  • Conduct Tool box meetings/talks.
  • Adherence to LOTOTO, CSM, PTW, JCC as per corporate requirement.
  • Reporting NMC, involvement in CFSA and SBO.
  • Insist all employees and workman for following safety systems/safe practices at the Unit

Implementation of WCM system.

  • Review of WCM practices, Ensure daily 5S activities, timely rectification of abnormalities.
  • Coordinate for painting of Visuals and Posters for Safety and WCM.
  • WCM system training and Model area development
  • Organizing Mega Cleaning.
  • Ensure KFA Team meetings with updation of activity boards.
  • Involvement in audit.
  • Model Area assessments, WCM assessments.
  • Identifying abnormality during Mega cleaning activity.

Safety Management System

Updating and sustaining with ISO 45001:2018 system by documents management, Internal Audits, Coordinating External Audits.

People Management

Enhancing skill of people through continuous learning and assigning projects.
