About The Job:
- We are looking for a skilled Performance Testing Engineer with hands-on experience in using tools such as LoadRunner and JMeter to assess and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of our applications.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and the ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex applications and systems
Essential Job Functions:
- Performance Test Planning and Strategy:
- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to define performance testing requirements and objectives.
- Develop performance testing strategies, plans, and schedules based on project needs.
- Test Design and Execution:
- Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter.
- Create and configure performance testing scenarios based on real-world user load conditions.
- Conduct tests to evaluate system performance under varying loads and stress conditions.
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor system performance during test execution and collect relevant performance metrics (e.g., response times, throughput, error rates, CPU usage, memory usage).
- Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Generate detailed performance test reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest optimization approaches and best practices for application scalability and performance.
- Work closely with developers and infrastructure teams to fine-tune the system based on performance test findings.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Automate repetitive performance tests to ensure consistent and scalable testing processes.
- Write custom scripts (in Java, JavaScript, or other scripting languages) to enhance performance testing capabilities.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Work with development teams to troubleshoot performance-related issues in various environments (development, staging, production).
- Provide guidance on how to resolve performance-related defects and offer performance tuning solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in performance testing with tools such as LoadRunner and JMeter.
- Experience with scripting in LoadRunner (Vugen) or JMeter (Java/JMX) to simulate realistic user behavior.
- Experience in load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency with LoadRunner and JMeter for load testing, performance benchmarking, and analysis.
- Knowledge of performance tuning for web applications, databases, and infrastructure (e.g., web servers, app servers, databases).
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics) for tracking system performance.
- Strong understanding of web protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, Web Services, SOAP, REST) and how they impact system performance.
- Basic programming skills in Java, JavaScript, or Shell scripting.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex performance issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in cloud-based performance testing (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
- Knowledge of database performance testing (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience with API testing and testing microservices in a distributed environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
