Performance Testing Team Lead Banking Applications (JMeter Expert)
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly driven Performance Testing Team Lead with deep expertise in JMeter and enterprise-scale performance engineering. The role will lead end-to-end performance testing for a complex banking application landscape, covering thick client, thin client, and web-based systems.
The candidate will be the face of performance testing, owning strategy, execution, stakeholder communication, and issue closure.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Testing Leadership
- Lead and own end-to-end performance testing for multiple banking applications across channels
- Define performance test strategy, scope, workloads, and success criteria
- Drive test planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and sign-off
Technical Expertise (JMeter)
- Design and develop advanced JMeter scripts (HTTP, Web, APIs, DB, custom protocols)
- Handle parameterization, correlation, assertions, listeners, and custom plugins
- Optimize scripts for scalability, reusability, and accuracy
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide actionable recommendations
Stakeholder & Delivery Management
- Act as the single point of contact for performance testing with senior stakeholders
- Confidently chase dependencies, risks, and issues and escalate professionally until closure
- Present test outcomes, risks, and recommendations to technology and business leaders
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, middleware, and vendor teams
Team & Ownership
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of performance testers
- Review scripts, results, and reports to ensure quality and consistency
- Build a strong performance testing mindset within the program
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
- Strong hands-on expertise in JMeter (non-negotiable)
- Proven experience in performance testing of banking / financial services applications
- Experience testing thick client, thin client, web, and API-based applications
- Excellent understanding of load, stress, endurance, and spike testing
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
