Job Description

As a Senior IT Technologist - Performance Test Engineer for Diabetes Minimed India at Medtronic, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our critical SAP and Non-SAP applications. You'll work closely with development teams and business analysts to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring our applications meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role is vital in Medtronic's mission to champion healthcare access and innovation, helping to transform diabetes management globally.

A Day in the Life

You will drive application performance excellence by:

  • Creating and updating comprehensive documentation for performance test plans, scripts, and results.
  • Utilizing applicable tools to facilitate adequate systems testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of application performance.
  • Contributing to identifying and implementing continuous improvement concepts to increase efficiency and maximize value for clients.
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of current testing software technologies and industry best practices.
  • Working independently to estimate, design, and deliver performance testing solutions.
  • Managing multiple assignments and exercising judgment regarding escalations to senior team members or vendors.
  • Maintaining a productive relationship with stakeholders, process owners, and technical/functional peers through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong practical understanding of technologies currently deployed within the department.
  • Checking for any critical issues or performance bottlenecks that need immediate attention and attending daily stand-up meetings to discuss priorities and blockers.
  • Reviewing daily performance testing plans, ensuring all necessary test environments and data are ready.
  • Coordinating with the DevOps team to confirm testing infrastructure is correctly configured with the latest builds.
  • Creating or updating performance test scripts using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling to simulate various user interactions and load conditions.
  • Executing initial tests to verify script functionality and environment stability.
  • Running full-scale performance tests (e.g., peak load, stress testing, endurance testing).
  • Monitoring system performance in real-time, focusing on key metrics like response time, throughput, and system resource utilization.
  • Analyzing performance test data to identify bottlenecks and areas not meeting requirements, collaborating with developers to diagnose root causes.
  • Documenting detailed results of performance tests, including key findings, metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Validating testing for SOX & GXP compliances and adherence to FDA regulations, including Title 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA CFR Part 820.

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in performance testing of Salesforce and SAP applications.
  • Strong understanding of performance testing concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce and SAP architecture, including customization and integration.
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries for data validation and performance analysis.
  • Ability to define data load strategy and workload models to support baseline, scalability, and volume tests.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in end-to-end performance testing, covering client-side, server-side, and database performance.
  • Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and understanding their performance characteristics.
  • Knowledge and experience in validating testing for SOX & GXP compliances and FDA regulations (Title 21 CFR Part 11, FDA CFR Part 820).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with creating Performance test frameworks utilizing JMeter, HP Performance Center, and similar tools.
  • Certification in Salesforce and/or SAP performance testing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance testing into the development lifecycle.
